The State Department for Public Works undertakes design services for all MDACs without charging consultancy fees both at the National and County government levels. The design process is made up of several phases which include feasibility studies, brief collection, pre-design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, building permits, bidding and negotiation, project management, and contract administration. These phases put realistic project deliverables and deadlines in place while meeting the triple constraint of Cost, Schedule, and Scope.
The mechanical directorate is mandated to design, document, supervise, test, commission, monitor and maintain mechanical installation(s) in public facilities. The electrical directorate offers consultancy services and design of electrical services aspects in building construction/partitioning/renovation projects.
